Pathways Release V5.17.06

Release V5.17.06 addresses system corrections and requests as outlined below. These changes will be reflected in the system effective October 2nd, 2013.

System Corrections/Requests Resolved:

Case 12366 – Region Admins cannot assign community reports
The ability for Region Administrators to assign Community Report access to users within their CoC has been restored.
Case 12390- Family Enrollment page looks like it allows an existing client to be enrolled twice and adds additional follow-ups.
If a client is currently enrolled in a program, a check box for that client will no longer display during a later family enrollment for another client in the same household. This will also prevent multiple follow-up records from being created.

Case 12783- Program Discharge Page message incorrect
On Program Discharge Page the HPRP Reference for Housing Status has been removed and has been replaced with “required for residential programs”

Case12669 – SSVF Services Information Page
On the SSVF Service Information page, the HPRP error reference has been replaced with, “this SSVF service transaction cannot be created because this client is not in an SSVF Program or the SSVF Program has no SSVF Funding Source specified.

Case 12710 and 12813 Veteran Page radio buttons disappear
The issues with the Branch of Military radio buttons disappearing when selecting a Branch or when coming back in to edit have been resolved.

Case 12461 – Family Enrollment – Disabling Condition and Chronically Homeless

Disabling Condition and Chronically Homeless values are no longer tied to the active client when conducting a family enrollment. However, if the active client in the household is disabled and has been chronically homeless, the whole household will be considered chronically homeless for reporting purposes.

Case 12498 – Adding Mobile Phone Number when clicking on the Process link

When clicking on “Process” to update client information, the Contact Information page now has the Mobile option. This information is also available on the Residential page from the Client menu.

2013 Tri-J Homeless Census Released

ATLANTA - On the night of January 28, 2013, the Metro Atlanta Tri-Jurisdictional (Tri-J) Collaborative (City of Atlanta, Fulton County and DeKalb County) on Homelessness and Pathways Community Network Institute, along with over 400 community volunteers, conducted its sixth homeless population point-in-time count. The homeless census consisted of two types of enumerations, an unsheltered count and a sheltered count, which together result in a comprehensive picture of homelessness in the Tri-J. Overall, a total of 6,664 homeless people were counted in the Tri-J area on count night.

Five times as many individuals as family members were counted on census night. Of the total number of homeless people counted, unaccompanied adults staying in emergency shelters comprised the largest group (33 percent) with unaccompanied adults sleeping in unsheltered locations second (30 percent). The largest number (39 percent) of individuals was staying in emergency shelters with the majority (50 percent) of family members also found in emergency shelters.

Windows XP and IE8 no longer supported...

As PATHWAYS COMPASS is a web based application, providing online support for our agencies is a continual migration between various software and operating systems. As technology progresses, and although we try to stay ahead of the curve, unfortunately it is inevitable some issues will arise. As Technical Support receives many calls every day regarding “Pathways / application” issues, we have always recognized that some users may not be aware of the impending tends set forth beyond our control. We understand many of our agencies/users may be using out dated Operating systems and software versions. Below are quotes and links from various resources regarding the issues with Windows XP and Internet Explorer 8.

Click HERE for the official "words" from Microsoft

“While you may choose to stick with IE8/Safari 5, you will be using the browser without any support from us and may miss out on newly released features. You can still call support regarding general accounting issues that are not related to the browser, however support agents will not be able to help with issues arising due to your use of IE8/Safari 5.
We are encouraging all users to switch to Chrome, Firefox, IE10 or IE9 at their earliest convenience. Upgrading to these new browsers will also improve the performance of QBO as well as your regular day-to-day browsing.”
From Intuit blog: http://blog.qbo.intuit.com/2013/04/13/internet-explorer-8-support-for-quickbooks-online/

“After April 8, 2014, Windows XP SP3 (Service Pack 3) users will no longer receive new security updates, non-security hotfixes, free or paid assisted support options or online technical content updates. This means that any new vulnerabilities discovered in Windows XP after its end of life will not be addressed by new security updates by Microsoft.”
From : http://blogs.seattletimes.com/microsoftpri0/2013/04/09/support-for-windows-xp-ending-next-year-the-push-against-google-and-other-news/

"As we announced last year, we support the latest version of Google Chrome (which automatically updates whenever it detects that a new version of the browser is available) as well as the current and prior major release of Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari on a rolling basis," wrote a Google representative in a Friday blog post. "Each time a new version of one of these browsers is released, we begin supporting the update and stop supporting the third-oldest version."

Pathways Announces the Release of V5.17.01

This release includes the following new functions:

Financial Cash and the Financial Non-Cash Benefits pages

When a user attempts to Save a record after answering "No" to each individual income or benefit category, the system will display a pop up message stating that at least one category must be answered "Yes." This applies to both Finance pages accessed via the Finance menu, and those that are accessed via the Program Update page.

Housing Status Descriptions

These now match on the General Information page, the Program Update page, Program Entry and Program Exit , and the applicable reports and exports.

Program Update Page

A validity check has been added which prevents a user from setting Chronically Homeless to "Yes" if Disabling Condition is set to "No". This matches the check on the General Information page.

Special Needs Page

Using the "Set every need to No" button at the top of the page and then setting a condition to "Yes" will show the secondary questions for that condition in all cases.

Process Client Special Needs Page

Displays an error message if NONE of the questions are answered and a user attempts to save the page.

If you have any questions about these enhancements, please contact the Pathways Technical Assistance/Training Team at support@pcni.org or at 866-818-1032, option 2.

PATHWAYS COMPASS Report Updates:

Report/Export Updates:

Service Information + Basic Client Demographics export:
• A new column has been added to the Service Information + Basic Client Demographics export. The column title is Reason_Denied and it is placed immediately to the right of the Outcome column. If the outcome is "Service Not Provided" the Reason_Denied column contains the reason selected by the user, if any. If no reason is selected, or if the Outcome is anything other than "Service Not Provided", then this column will be blank.

Service Information + Basic Client Demographics export:
• The RACE column in the Service Records + Basic Client Demographics export has been corrected to display the Race properly.
Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG):
• The Emergency Solutions Grant report (ESG) have been released to the Production system.
Program Enrollment and Discharge Export:
• The Program Enrollment and Discharge (PED) export and the AHAR Alerts (AA) export have both been updated to add a business rule to the NO_ADULT_IN_HH column (PED) and the INDIVIDUAL_CHILD column (AA). If a child is directly enrolled in a program and then an adult is directly enrolled in the same program with a later Entry Date, the child is now being flagged with a “Y” in these columns.

Even though the AHAR and the APR reports both treat such a child correctly, the fact that the child was enrolled before any adult in the household is considered a condition that should be flagged for review by the agency.
